VON Middlesex-Elgin's Caregiver Walking Group
A free weekly walking group offered to caregivers, giving them a low-barrier way to get moving, reduce stress, and connect with peers while managing their caregiving responsibilities.
VON Middlesex-Elgin Supportive Care and Bereavement's Healing Souls
A supportive program for individuals and caregivers experiencing grief, using art-based activities to explore emotions, foster expression, and promote healing in a compassionate group setting.
VON Middlesex-Elgin's Volunteer Visiting Program
A free service that matches volunteers with older adults or adults with disabilities who live alone, providing companionship through regular in-home visits or outings, helping reduce isolation and enhance quality of life.
VON's Kids Circle
A free, interactive online support service where children and youth affected by a family member's serious illness or loss can connect with trained counsellors and peers, and access creative tools and resources to express feelings and build resilience.
VON Supportive Care and Bereavement
Various groups including: Healing Souls, Self-Compassion, Mindfulness Meditation, Gentle Yoga for Grief, Drum Circle, Open grief virtual support groups for individuals grieving death-related losses including death by suicide, addiction related death, death of a child, and Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD)
VON Transportation Services
Non-emergency transportation to local medical and non-medical appointments and regular activities such as shopping, errands and social outings. Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles and also provide a friendly visit along the way. Wheelchair accessible van and ambulatory transportation is available in Aylmer, East Elgin, St Thomas and Central Elgin Provides transportation to St Thomas vaccine site for adults age 55 and over or adults with disabilities at a cost (VON intake process must be completed, call 519-637-6408)
Voyago
Provides medical transportaion, accommodating wheelchairs, stretchers, and specialized medical needs.
Wasa Nabin
The Wasa Nabin Program supports urban Indigenous youth ages 13 to 18 through culturally grounded activities that foster positive behaviours, leadership, and well-being, while addressing individualized needs like education, social skills, and violence prevention.
WECHC's Community Food Programs
Provides access to nutritious food through programs such as community meals, food hampers, and nutrition support initiatives for individuals and families facing food insecurity.
