The Elgin OHT participated in the first phase of the Building Engagement-Capable Environments for Health System Transformation (Build ECEs) Study through the Public and Patient Engagement Collaborative. The study explores how Ontario Health Teams are progressing in building engagement-capable environments that support people-centred health systems. The findings show progress in Elgin’s engagement capability, including strengths in Community Member involvement in governance and participation in knowledge exchange activities. The report also identifies opportunities to continue growing this work, including involving more Community Members, evaluating engagement and partnership activities, and continuing to develop mentorship opportunities for Community Member partners.
