Central Community Health Centre (CCHC) is a charitable organization whose purpose is the delivery of comprehensive primary care, illness prevention and health promotion through community programs and support to individuals and families in St. Thomas, Central Elgin and Southwold Township.

A low-barrier clinic for individuals in St. Thomas/Elgin County dealing with substance use disorders (alcohol, opioids, other substances), offering walk-in or call access, medication-assisted treatment, counselling and referrals; covered by OHIP.

Counselling Services Available Through Primary Care

If you belong to any of the following team-based primary care organizations, check with your clinic regarding their counselling services: Central Community Health Centre, East Elgin Family Health Team, Thames Valley Family Health Team, and West Elgin Community Health Centre (walk-in counselling available at West Elgin Community Health Centre on Thursdays from 1pm-4pm for anyone in the community). If you don't currently have access to a family physician or nurse practitioner, mental health services are available through the Elgin Community Health Hub.

East Elgin Family Health Team

A team-based primary care clinic that offers services led by family doctors, nurse practitioners, and other health professionals to support individuals and families in East Elgin.

Elgin Community Health Hub

Provides integrated, team-based primary health care including mental health screening, counselling referral, and community support services for people without a a family doctor or nurse practitioner. You do not need to be a patient of the Thames Valley Family Health Team to book an appointment.

Provides team-based primary care, chronic disease management, mental health supports, and access to allied health professionals to help individuals and families stay healthy and well.

West Elgin Community Health Centre

Free, private counselling for individuals of all ages dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, chronic pain, relationship issues and more. Self-referrals accepted via an online form; note you must live in Dutton-Dunwich or West Elgin and/or have a primary-care provider at the Centre.
