Accesssible Parking Permit Application

Ontario accessible parking permits (APPs) can be issued to either: an individual whose mobility is limited because of a permanent or temporary disability OR an Ontario corporation or non-profit organization for use in vehicles they own or lease for the purpose of transporting people with disabilities. There is no cost to get, renew or replace an accessible parking permit.

Angels of Flight Canada

Provides specialized aeromedical transportation for ill and injured individuals across Canada and internationally. Services include air ambulance transportation, airline and air charter medical escorts, and registered nurse consultation and coordination for medical travel. Call the office for current fee schedule.

Ontario Disability Support Program Transportation for Medical Appointments and Treatment

If you and your family spend $15 or more a month on transportation, you may receive money to cover the cost of travel to and from a medical appointment with an approved healthcare professional. Approved health care professionals include doctors, dentists and nurses. The cost of transportation may also be covered under the Mandatory Special Necessities Benefit if you are attending: mental health therapy, mental health counselling, drug or alcohol recovery groups. Please contact your ODSP worker to find out if you are eligible for help with these transportation costs before spending money.

Parallel Transit Services

Parallel Transit Services is a personalized door-to-door transportation service for members, who because of limitations are unable to board the fixed route service. Anyone interested in using Parallel Transit must complete an application form.

Provides financial help or vouchers for urgent transportation needs, such as getting to/from medical appointments or in crisis situations.

Provides safe, reliable transportation for older adults to medical appointments, shopping, errands, social outings, religious services, and more. Driver companions can remain with clients throughout their appointment or errand and can accommodate walkers, collapsible wheelchairs, and individuals with cognitive impairments.

St. Thomas public transit service, providing accessible fixed-route buses, on-demand rides, and specialized door-to-door options to help residents and visitors travel conveniently across the city.

The Four Counties Community Transit System

Operates a wheel-chair accessible bus available to the residents of the Four Counties area, including the counties of Elgin, Kent, Lambton and Middlesex. To reach dispatch or for more information, call the number. The cost to take the Four Counties Transit bus is $7 one way. Trips can be dispatched through the program contacts also.

Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles and also provide a friendly visit along the way. Wheelchair accessible van and ambulatory transportation is available in Aylmer, East Elgin, St Thomas and Central Elgin Provides transportation to St Thomas vaccine site for adults age 55 and over or adults with disabilities at a cost (VON intake process must be completed, call 519-637-6408)

Provides medical transportaion, accommodating wheelchairs, stretchers, and specialized medical needs.

WEHC Transportation Service

Transportation is a support service that provides transportation to medical appointments, shopping and to various social activities and programs. Screened volunteers use their own vehicles to provide transportation and a friendly visit along the way. Accessible transportation is also available. Fee for Service Fare based on .56 per km driver, accessible .62 per km + $22/hour. Client pays for parking. Monthly billing system. All rides are dependent upon the availability of a volunteer / paid driver. All trips must be requested 24 – 48 hours in advance.
